Cetirizine 2HCl Sandoz® 10 mg, film-coated tablets
Cetirizine dihydrochloride is the active substance in Cetirizine 2HCl Sandoz 10 mg.
Cetirizine 2HCl Sandoz 10 mg is an anti-allergy medicine.

What is this medicine used for?
For the relief of nasal and eye symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).

Do not use in
- You have severe kidney function impairment (severe renal failure with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).
- You are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, to hydroxyzine, to piperazine derivatives (closely related active substances of other medicines) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine

Be extra careful when
Warning:
This medicine may impair your reaction time, making it dangerous when driving or operating machinery. We recommend that you read the package leaflet before use.
#Make sure that children play safely (for example, not high up on a climbing frame) if they have taken this medicine.
#Consult a doctor before use if you have epilepsy, urination problems or an enlarged prostate.
#This (over-the-counter) medicine affects the results of allergy tests; stop using this medicine three days before the test.
#Stop use immediately if fever, redness or pimples occur and consult a doctor.

Intake during pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy: Do NOT use unless strictly advised by a doctor.
When breastfeeding: Do NOT use unless strictly advised by a doctor.

Other information
Consult your doctor:
#People who are short of breath or have difficulty breathing.
#People with very swollen eyes and colored eye fluid.
#People with complaints on only one side of the nose.
#People with moderate to severe symptoms for whom medication does not help enough.
#Women who are pregnant and have these complaints for the first time
#Reaction to Oak Processionary Caterpillar: In case of thickening of the lips, tongue or eyelids, or tightness and shortness of breath.
#Response to Oak Processionary Caterpillar: For eye complaints that do not improve after rinsing the eyes.
#Response to oak processionary caterpillar: If symptoms do not subside after 2 weeks.

Do not use in case of:
#Do not use if you have severe kidney problems, problems with emptying the bladder, epilepsy or are at risk of convulsions, unless on strict doctor's advice.
#When having an allergy test, consult your doctor about whether you should stop using this allergy remedy for a few days beforehand.
#Do not use together with alcohol.

Use for:

Active ingredients
Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.

Excipients
tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, LACTOSE monohydrate, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous
silicon dioxide tablet coating: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 4000 and titanium dioxide (E171)

Dosage
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older
The recommended dose is 10 mg once daily (1 tablet).
Use in children aged 6 to 12 years
The recommended dose is 5 mg twice daily (as half a tablet).
Patients with impaired renal function
The recommended dose for patients with moderate renal impairment is 5 mg once daily.

Maximum dosage
1 tablet every 24 hours

Directions for use
Take with plenty of water. For moderate to severe kidney dysfunction: take half a tablet once daily. If there is no improvement after 3 days of use, consult a doctor.
