Flaminal® Hydro protects the wound edge\u003cbr\u003eThese are the main properties for rapid wound healing.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eUsage\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFlaminal® Hydro is indicated for low to moderately exuding wounds, such as:\n- leg ulcers\n- diabetic foot ulcers\n- 2nd-degree burns (deep, superficial)\n- radiation wounds\n- oncological wounds\n- complex abrasions\n- dermatosurgery\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eInstructions for use\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eApplying or re-applying Flaminal® Hydro to a wound is easy and\npainless. Proceed as follows:\n1. First clean and rinse the wound (e.g. with Flamirins®)\n2. Gently pat dry\n3. Cover the entire wound bed with Flaminal® Hydro\n4. Cover Flaminal® Hydro with a dressing. The choice of dressing is determined by\nthe nature of the wound:\n- Dry wound: Transparent film (polyurethane) or greasy dressing with a non-adhesive\nbandage\n- Low exudate: Non-woven gauze compress with a non-adhesive bandage or with a\nhypoallergenic adhesive plaster\n- Moderate exudate: Absorbent, non-adhesive compress with a non-adhesive bandage or\na hypoallergenic adhesive plaster\n\nGood to know\n- Check the dressing daily. If there are leaks or insufficient gel, replace Flaminal® Hydro\nand apply a new dressing.\n- If dry, white alginate flakes appear on the wound edge during treatment with Flaminal® Hydro, leave them. They protect against maceration of the wound edge.\nMaceration delays wound healing.\n- If dry, white alginate flakes appear in the wound, cover Flaminal® Hydro as for a dry wound.\n- If the gel becomes too runny, the wound is too moist for Flaminal® Hydro and\nit is better to use Flaminal® Forte.\n- The dressing with Flaminal® Hydro can remain in place as long as the gel structure is intact (1 to\n4 days, depending on the degree of exudate).\n- In the initial phase of treatment, you may have the impression that the wound is enlarging. This is a\nnormal consequence of the healing process in which dead tissue is removed.\n- Since alginates are natural products, the color may change slightly. The\ncolor change has no effect on the quality of Flaminal® Hydro.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWarnings\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFor certain wounds, additional treatment may be desired. Consult a doctor or\u003cbr\u003ewound specialist.\u003cbr\u003eFlaminal® Hydro can be used on infected wounds under medical supervision.\u003cbr\u003eAlginates have a peculiar odor that does not affect wound healing. However, if the odor\u003cbr\u003esuddenly becomes more pronounced, consult a doctor or wound specialist.\u003cbr\u003eFlaminal® Hydro should not be used in patients with a known allergy to any of the\u003cbr\u003eingredients (see \"Composition\").\u003cbr\u003eFlaminal® Hydro should not be applied to the eyelids or in the eyes. If this does happen,\u003cbr\u003eyou should rinse the eyes thoroughly with running water. Consult a doctor.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStorage advice\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eStore at room temperature (not more than 25°C) in a dry place in the original packaging.\nThe expiry date (USE BY) year\/month is the first day of the indicated month and year.\nClose the tube or jar immediately after use.\nOnce opened and if always properly closed, a tube of Flaminal® Hydro can be stored and used\nuntil the expiry date on the tube and box.
